health Bible verses

Health Bible verses are similar to healing Bible verses. With both, we need to be careful not to pull these verses out of their contexts.

Health Bible Verses
The apostle John desires health for those Christians whose spirits prosper.

A couple of points are to be made regarding health Bible verses.

  1. Examples of physical healing or promises of physical healing must be interpreted in their contexts. The New Testament, which is God’s program today, does not promise physical healing. Be careful!
  2. Many of the OT verses, particularly in the books of Moses, are not required to be obeyed today, since we are not under the Law of Moses, but under the grace that is in Christ (Ro. 6:14).
  3. Even though 2 above is correct, it is still amazing that Moses wrote what he did about health considering that germs wouldn’t be discovered until thousands of years later. The health laws in Moses’ writings are proof for the divine inspiration of the Scripture.

And if the hair in the diseased area has turned white and the disease appears to be deeper than the skin of his body, it is a case of leprous disease. Leviticus 13:42–46 42 But if there is on the bald head or the bald forehead a reddish-white diseased area, it is a leprous disease breaking out on his bald head or his bald forehead. 43 Then the priest shall examine him, and if the diseased swelling is reddish-white on his bald head or on his bald forehead, like the appearance of leprous disease in the skin of the body, 44 he is a leprous man, he is unclean. The priest must pronounce him unclean; his disease is on his head. 45 “The leprous person who has the disease shall wear torn clothes and let the hair of his head hang loose, and he shall cover his upper lip and cry out, ‘Unclean, unclean.’ 46 He shall remain unclean as long as he has the disease. And he shall bathe his body in fresh water and shall be clean. 14 And on the eighth day he shall take two turtledoves or two pigeons and come before the Lord to the entrance of the tent of meeting and give them to the priest.

His uncleanness is still on him…
